Monday, January 17, 2022 – MLK Day, The events start at 10 AM.  Come early. Parking is limited. Below is a schedule of the Greenwood Chamber, DW Speakeasy, MLK Parade, Black Wall Street Tee’s and Souvenirs, and Rose Tax Solutions events on Monday.
 
10:00 AM – 10:25 AM  The Greenwood Chamber will host a 10-15 minute ceremony at, 121 N. Greenwood Avenue,  to highlight the Healthy Outdoors Initiative which aims to provide a place for rest and contemplation so that people can spend time, have places to sit, and enjoy the outdoors, which promotes healthy living. With support from St. John Ascension, the Greenwood Chamber added a new gutter system in the courtyard grassy area, new drains, planted trees, hired a professional landscaper to enhance the area, purchased two metal outdoor benches, and lighting for night events. Hot chocolate and sweets will be available for attendees. Dress warmly.  See you there.
 
11:00 AM – MLK Day Parade begins.  If you are interested in joining the tail end of the parade and marching with Greenwood business owners and supporters in the parade, please contact Devin Williams, DW’s Speakeasy ASAP, https://www.facebook.com/DWSpeakeasy/, Email: Devin.r.williams2014@gmail.com, Contact Number: 9188495728 or 4052693865.  All Greenwood business owners, families, friends, members, and supporters are welcome to march in the parade. You are encouraged to wear Greenwood/Black Wall Street, MLK, and other relevant African American-themed apparel.  You can always purchase shirts at Black Wall Street Tee’s and Souveniers, https://bwstees.com/  . Special Note:  Black Wall Street Tee’s will open at a new location on MLK Day.  The location is 101 N Greenwood Avenue, the former welcome center space.  Check them out. You can also find Greenwood/BWS shirts at Black Wall Street Corner Store and More,  Frios Gourmet Pops, Natural Health Clinic on Greenwood, Tee’s Barbershop, The Greenwood Gallery, and The Loc Shop Natural Hair Salon. Lastly, Rose Tax Solutions is having community appreciation day during the parade.
 
The parade generally ends before 12:30 pm. After the parade please hang around/ come to 121 N Greenwood Avenue and be on the lookout for the ribbon cutting/soft opening celebration of DW’s Speakeasy/Bar.
