Serving as the youngest President of one of the oldest Black Chambers in the nation is a privilege and honor. The Chamber has a 94-year heritage of successfully supporting and promoting business opportunities for our members, while providing a significant emphasis on education and preserving the last remaining buildings of historic Black Wall Street. Our landmark 100th-year commemoration of Black Wall Street 1921 reminds us of the importance of building and sustaining strong collaborations and partnerships for the benefit of historically underutilized businesses and the community at large. 
I was born and raised in the south and was called to ministry early which gave me the privilege of earning a bachelor’s degree in History from Tuskegee University. From there I went on to pursue Graduate Studies and Post Graduate Studies at the University of Alabama and later the University of Georgia in American Studies, Library Science, History, and Education, respectively. These life changing experiences assisted in my first introduction to the Greenwood story. It was 2000, and I was sitting in a Black History lecture at Tuskegee, not knowing this moment would shape my current lifework, passions, and the heading of this groundbreaking Black Wall Street campaign. Greenwood is a story of resilience that is not known in American history, and that deserves to be changed. I am committed to ensuring this historical story, cultural landscape, community building, and history in the making are preserved for future generations to come.
